Q: I am not able to see or input any Chinese characters while I use QQ2005.

A:  QQ2005 is known to have problems and this could only be solved by changing some settings in Windows. Tencent has now released a new version that supports unicode though. Tencent Messsenger 2008 English is based on this new platform and should solve all your problems, assuming that you enabled the Chinese characters in Windows of course.

To enable Chinese in Windows XP, do the following:

• Open Configuration Panel
• Open 'Regional and Language Options'
• Select the second tab called 'Languages'
• In the section 'supplemental language support' enable the checkbox 'Install files for East Asian languages'
