Tofu with pepper and pork is one of my favorite dishes. It’s quite easy to make and has a nice bite to it. It’s not too spicy, but has very nice flavors. If you don’t watch out, you keep on eating it. Important for this dish is the kind of tofu. We use “five spice tofu” and then the non-smoked version.
Delicious sliced tofu with pepper and pork

Yummy!
Ingredients:

chopped up green peppers, a little bit spicy

Sliced five spice tofu. We personally prefer the non-smoked version

Stir fry the peppers and add the sliced tofu and keep stirring
after a while add salt and soy sauce

Notice the tofu has become slightly darker, partially because frying and partially because the soy sauce. Immediately serve and enjoy!
- 5 square pieces of five spice tofu (香干xiang1 gan1) – sliced into thin strips
- 1 green pepper (little bit spicy) – sliced and chopped small
- little bit red pepper
- little bit garlic (1 clove)
- about 150 gram pork meat
- salt, soya sauce (light)
- optional: some fermented soya beans
- optional: chopped celery
Prepare:
- slice the meat in thin strips
- marinate the meat shortly with some salt, cornstarch, cooking wine
- heat oil in the wok
- add the green, red peppers and garlic first; shortly stirfry
- add the meat and stir good. The cornstarch mixture will make the meat stick to the pan easily
- stir till the meat is almost cooked, about 1 minute
- get everything out, perhaps you now need to wash the wok (if it’s too dirty)
- add oil to the wok and add the sliced strips of tofu
- bake it till it’s a little golden/brown
- add the meat/pepper mixture back
- add soya sauce, salt, optionally the fermented soya beans
- stir fry for a little while and it’s done!
